Tesla Releases Software Update

Tesla's Fremont factory is producing new electric cars as software update 2026.2.3 rolls out, promising improved vehicle performance and energy management [https://teslaacessories.com/blogs/news/tesla-2026.2.3-software-update-major-enhancements-rolling-out-to-us-and-european-owners-right-now].

The 2026.2.3 update is rolling out to most of Tesla's global fleet, including Cybertrucks. About 62% of Tesla's worldwide fleet has received the update. This update includes a "Child Left Alone Detection" feature, which activates the car's exterior lights, plays an alert, and sends notifications to your Tesla app if it detects an unattended child. This repeats until you return to the vehicle; cabin data is processed locally and not sent to Tesla. The update also makes it easier to unlatch the charge cable. You can stop charging and release the cable by holding the rear left door handle for 3 seconds if the car is unlocked or a recognized key is nearby. This is helpful if the charge cable unlatch button isn't working or an adapter is stuck. Tesla is expanding its Fremont factory to produce Optimus robots, aiming for one million units annually. Production of the Model S and Model X will end in Fremont, with the factory space converting to Optimus robot manufacturing. The Fremont factory will still manufacture Model 3 and Y vehicles.
