"Manic Street Creature" at the Kiln Theatre is a semi-autobiographical show written, composed, and performed by Maimuna Memon. The production, directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward, runs until March 28th. The musical tells the story of Ria, a singer-songwriter who moves from Lancashire to Camden Town to pursue her music career. She falls into an intense relationship with Daniel, a piano-playing barman with bipolar disorder, exploring themes of love, co-dependency, and mental health. Memon won an Olivier Award in 2025 for her role in "Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812". "Manic Street Creature" won a Fringe First Award, The Stage Award For Acting, and The Mental Health Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022. The show is structured as a live gig or recording session, with Memon performing nine songs with her band.
