Amazon adds Sponsored Products Aug. 10
- Amazon will extend Sponsored Products into creator content on Aug. 10, automatically enrolling existing campaigns at current bids and budgets, according to Amazon Ads documentation. - Amazon’s Creator Connections program already lets brands set commission rates and budgets, while creators including influencers, publishers and bloggers produce qualifying sales content. - Aug. 10 is the start date Amazon gave advertisers; creators in the Amazon Influencer Program can then begin featuring Sponsored Products.
Amazon is widening where Sponsored Products can appear, adding creator content to the off-Amazon placements that already include sites and apps. The change takes effect on Aug. 10, according to Amazon Ads documentation and an advertiser notice first reported by PPC.Land. Existing live campaigns will be enrolled automatically, with current bids and budgets carrying over. Amazon says no advertiser action is required. The move adds a creator layer to one of Amazon’s core cost-per-click ad products. Sponsored Products already use existing campaign targeting, bids and budgets to place ads where Amazon judges them relevant, and clicks send shoppers back to Amazon product detail pages. Starting Aug. 10, that same system can place those ads through creators as well. ### Where exactly will these ads start showing up? Amazon Ads says Sponsored Products campaigns extend beyond Amazon to “premium sites, apps, and creators,” according to its support documentation updated on Aug. 4. PPC.Land reported that creators were newly added to that list in the revised page and in an advertiser notice setting the Aug. 10 start date. Amazon describes Sponsored Products as cost-per-click ads that promote individual product listings. When a shopper clicks one of those ads on a third-party placement, Amazon says the shopper is taken to the product detail page on Amazon. ### Who gets to choose the products? PPC.Land reported that Amazon recommends products to creators it judges aligned with a brand, using relevance and engagement history, and that creators then choose which products to feature. (ppc.land) The report said those products can appear in reviews, editorial content and buying guides. Amazon’s existing Creator Connections documentation shows the broader structure behind that creator ecosystem. The program connects brands with Amazon Creators, lets brands select eligible products from their catalog, set a commission rate, define campaign dates and assign a budget, and then allows creators to produce content that drives qualifying sales. (advertising.amazon.com) Amazon says creators in that program include publishers, influencers, deal sites and bloggers. (ppc.land) ### What happens to campaigns that are already live? The Aug. 10 change will apply by default to current campaigns, according to the advertiser notice cited by PPC.Land. The report said existing campaigns are enrolled automatically at their existing bids and budgets, and that advertisers do not need to take action. Amazon’s Sponsored Products support page says the system uses an advertiser’s existing targeting, bid and budget parameters when extending campaigns beyond Amazon. (advertising.amazon.com) That means the creator placements are being folded into settings advertisers already use for off-Amazon distribution. ### How is this different from Creator Connections? Creator Connections is a commission-based marketplace service, while Sponsored Products is a cost-per-click ad format. (ppc.land) Amazon says Creator Connections lets brands offer bonus commissions for qualifying sales generated by creator content, with campaign management handled inside an Amazon Advertising account and no additional service fees. Sponsored Products, by contrast, are billed on clicks. The new setup matters because it brings Amazon’s established CPC ad buying into creator inventory instead of limiting creator participation to commission-led campaigns. (advertising.amazon.com) PPC.Land reported that standard Sponsored Products billing will apply when those creator placements go live. ### Which creators are involved first? PPC.Land said campaigns may begin appearing through creators enrolled in the Amazon Influencer Program starting Aug. 10. (advertising.amazon.com) Amazon’s creator materials describe a wider creator base around its programs, including influencers, publishers, bloggers and deal sites, though the Aug. 10 rollout report specifically named Influencer Program participants for the new Sponsored Products placements. Aug. 10, 2026 is the date Amazon gave advertisers for the rollout to begin. (ppc.land) From that date, existing Sponsored Products campaigns can start appearing through participating creators at the same bids and budgets already set in advertisers’ live campaigns.
