Apple is testing a new Siri interface that reportedly moves the assistant into the iPhone’s Dynamic Island instead of taking over the screen. (9to5mac.com) Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the prototype shows a visible “Search or Ask” prompt in the Dynamic Island and a glowing cursor effect tied to Siri’s colors. Apple has not announced that design publicly. (macrumors.com) The report says the redesign is being tested for iOS 27, the software Apple is expected to preview at its Worldwide Developers Conference, which Apple has scheduled for the week of June 8, 2026. Developers will also gather at Apple Park on June 8 for the in-person event. (apple.com) Dynamic Island is the pill-shaped area at the top of newer iPhones that already expands for timers, calls, music, and other live status updates. Putting Siri there would keep the rest of the screen visible while a request is in progress. (apple.com) That would mark another reset for Siri after Apple introduced Apple Intelligence at Worldwide Developers Conference 2024 and said Siri would gain more personal context and deeper app actions. Apple later delayed some of those Siri features, saying in March 2025 that they would take longer than expected and would roll out “in the coming year.” (apple.com, daringfireball.net) Apple’s current Siri interface already uses a glowing edge around the display on supported iPhones, but the reported iOS 27 concept would shift that visual focus to the Dynamic Island itself. Gurman’s report also linked the look to the bright halo effect in Apple’s WWDC26 artwork. (apple.com, gizmodo.com) The same round of reporting said Apple’s hardware roadmap is also under pressure from memory component shortages. Gurman said the next Mac Studio could slip later into 2026 and the redesigned MacBook Pro line with M6 chips could move to early 2027. (macrumors.com) Apple has not confirmed those Mac delays or the Siri interface, and the company’s public WWDC announcement only says the conference will highlight “AI advancements” and new software tools. The next clear checkpoint is Apple’s keynote on June 8. (apple.com)
