Victorinox Partners with JBS USA

Victorinox, the maker of the Swiss Army Knife, has formed a strategic partnership with JBS USA, a leading global food company. The two industry leaders are uniting to advance operational performance and yield optimization.

This direct purchasing relationship will streamline the supply chain for JBS USA, which processes meat from 28,000 cattle and 92,000 hogs daily across its U.S. facilities. The collaboration aims to leverage Victorinox's expertise in professional-grade cutlery to enhance JBS's operational performance. A key goal of the partnership is to optimize yield, a critical factor in the high-volume meat processing industry. The use of high-quality, sharp, and ergonomically designed knives, such as Victorinox's Fibrox Pro line, can significantly reduce waste by enabling more precise cuts, which is crucial for maximizing the amount of usable meat from each carcass. Beyond supplying its existing professional knives, Victorinox will collaborate with JBS USA on developing new products. This innovation will be tailored to the specific needs of modern, large-scale food processing facilities, likely focusing on blade durability, safety features, and ease of maintenance. For JBS USA, this partnership aligns with its broader strategy of embracing technology and innovation to improve efficiency. The company has a dedicated Center of Innovation & Technology for Excellence (CITE) and has previously partnered with AI technology firms to optimize carcass sorting and cutting plans. This collaboration with a tool manufacturer represents a hands-on approach to refining its processing lines. Victorinox will manage the logistics from its 90,000-square-foot distribution center in Monroe, Connecticut. By fully owning its supply chain, the company can provide tailored support and ensure consistent inventory for each plant in the JBS USA network.
