Amazon Expands 'Shop Direct' Program
Amazon is expanding its 'Shop Direct' initiative, letting customers shop directly on other retailers’ websites via Amazon reports.
The program, initially tested with a few merchants, is now broadly available to U.S. Amazon sellers. This expansion allows customers to purchase products from participating retailers without leaving the Amazon marketplace. Shop Direct leverages Amazon's payment and fulfillment infrastructure. Retailers gain access to Amazon's vast customer base, while Amazon collects a referral fee on each sale. This move intensifies competition in the e-commerce landscape. It also provides smaller retailers with an alternative to building their own robust online platforms.
