US Spot Bitcoin ETFs See $1.1B Inflow

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen a renewed surge of interest, with inflows totaling $1.1 billion over just three days. This marks the largest weekly inflow since mid-January and signals robust, ongoing institutional demand for liquid, regulated exposure to cryptocurrency.

This recent surge in Bitcoin ETF inflows marks a significant reversal from a period of substantial withdrawals. For five consecutive weeks, these investment products saw net redemptions totaling $3.8 billion. The turnaround signals a renewed, albeit potentially fragile, confidence among institutional and retail investors. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has been the primary beneficiary of this renewed interest, capturing approximately $652 million of the total inflows over the three-day period. On a single day, February 25th, IBIT attracted about $297 million, which accounted for nearly 60% of the aggregate inflows into all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. This dominance underscores BlackRock's significant influence in the institutional crypto space. The renewed buying pressure is also reflected in the Coinbase Premium Index, which has turned positive after 40 straight days in negative territory. This index measures the price difference for Bitcoin on Coinbase, a platform heavily used by U.S. institutions, compared to global exchanges. A positive reading is often interpreted as a sign of strong institutional buying in the United States. Despite a roughly 50% drop in Bitcoin's price from its all-time high in October 2025, many ETF investors have held their positions, a behavior described by some analysts as having "diamond hands." Since that peak, spot ETFs have experienced about $6.5 billion in cumulative outflows, a relatively small amount compared to the more than $54 billion in total net inflows since their launch. This resilience suggests that many institutional participants are taking a long-term view of their Bitcoin allocations.
