The 19th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards took place on March 12 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Marsai Martin hosted the event, which included a performance by Grammy winner Mýa. This year's honorees included Kerry Washington, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Zinzi Coogler, and Chase Infiniti. The ceremony's theme was "Off Script," celebrating Black women expanding beyond traditional roles in Hollywood. A Luminary Spotlight also honored the women behind the film *Sinners*. Sergio Hudson launched his ready-to-wear collection in 2014. Hudson is known for his tailoring that accentuates the female form, and use of vibrant colors. His designs are crafted entirely in the USA.
