Dorsia Debuts Curated "Culture Calendar"
Tech-driven hospitality company Dorsia has launched its "Culture Calendar," a platform designed to provide members with access to exclusive global events. The service, which debuted during Art Week in Mexico City, aims to curate and organize access to in-demand cultural experiences for its traveling members.
- The Miami-based company, founded in 2021 by Marc Lotenberg, recently secured $50.4 million in seed and Series A funding, valuing the company at $146 million. - Notable investors include hospitality magnate David Grutman of Groot Hospitality, Jon Newman (co-founder of Sweetgreen), and Mario Carbone, the chef and co-founder of Major Food Group. - Dorsia's membership model is tiered, starting at $175 per year and rising to a $25,000 "Premium Plus" tier, which offers access to the most sought-after tables and events. As of early 2025, the platform had approximately 125,000 members with 50,000 pending applications. - The platform partners with restaurants by guaranteeing a predetermined minimum spend per person, which varies based on dynamic pricing and demand. This model provides restaurants with guaranteed revenue for the tables they allocate to Dorsia. - The "Culture Calendar" is designed to expand beyond dining reservations to include curated access to global events such as the Cannes Film Festival, Fashion Weeks, and Wimbledon. - To launch the calendar, Dorsia hosted an exclusive, 16-hour party called Sol a Sol on a private helipad in Mexico City's Polanco district, featuring nine DJ sets and attracting artists, industry leaders, and tastemakers. - The company's technology includes a patented payment system, Dorsia Pay, which allows members to settle their bill, including tip, within the app to avoid waiting for a check. - Co-founder Gabriella Shteiman has stated the company's vision is to evolve from a restaurant reservation app into a "global wallet" for entertainment, hospitality, and wellness experiences across its 23 markets.
