iRacing Arcade Launches on Steam
iRacing Arcade is now available on Steam, offering a more accessible, arcade-style motorsport simulation experience. This marks iRacing's expansion beyond its hardcore simulation roots to capture casual racing fans. The Steam release brings the franchise to a much broader audience than the traditional subscription-based iRacing service.
The new title was co-developed by Original Fire Games, the studio behind the cartoonish top-down racer *Circuit Superstars*, and published by iRacing. This partnership blends Original Fire Games' accessible, stylized approach with iRacing's extensive licensing of real-world cars and tracks. Priced at $24.99, *iRacing Arcade* represents a significant departure from iRacing's traditional subscription model, which requires ongoing payments to access the service and additional purchases for most cars and tracks. This one-time purchase is aimed at attracting a more casual audience on PC, with PlayStation and Xbox versions planned for a summer 2026 release. The core iRacing service, launched in 2008, is a highly-detailed motorsport simulation renowned for its realism and competitive online racing structure. It was founded by Dave Kaemmer, a co-founder of Papyrus Design Group, which created legendary sims like *NASCAR Racing: 2003 Season* and *Grand Prix Legends*. This move into the arcade space follows iRacing's recent acquisitions of other game development studios. In late 2021 and early 2022, iRacing acquired Orontes Games and Monster Games, signaling a broader strategy to expand beyond its hardcore simulation niche and develop a wider range of racing games.
