AAIS names Keith Wolfe as new CEO
The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) has appointed Keith Wolfe as its new president and CEO, effective March 1, 2026. Wolfe is an experienced property and casualty (P&C) executive. His appointment at the influential standards-setting body is expected to drive innovation and growth.
- Before his appointment at AAIS, Keith Wolfe was the Chief Commercial Officer for North America at Guy Carpenter, a major global risk and reinsurance specialist. - Wolfe's extensive background includes a 27-year tenure at Swiss Re and its predecessors, where he held several leadership positions, including President of U.S. Property & Casualty. - His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. - Wolfe is no stranger to the organization, having previously served as a member of the AAIS Board of Directors. - He takes the helm from Interim CEO M. Ross Fisher, who was appointed in November 2025. The previous long-term president and CEO was Ed Kelly, who led the organization from 2012. - A significant initiative Wolfe will inherit is openIDL (open Insurance Data Link), a blockchain platform for regulatory reporting that AAIS launched as a Linux Foundation project. - Wolfe also holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and has served on the U.S. Treasury's Advisory Committee on Risk Sharing Mechanisms. - His appointment comes as AAIS continues to focus on technological advancements, including AI, data analytics, and blockchain to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and regulatory compliance.
