Michelin’s first Philippines guide is now in circulation, putting Manila, nearby dining hubs and Cebu into the company’s 2026 restaurant map. (michelin.com) The inaugural selection was unveiled on October 30, 2025, at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Newport World Resorts, and Michelin counted 108 establishments across Manila and Environs and Cebu. (michelin.com) Michelin said the 2026 edition includes 1 restaurant with Two Michelin Stars, 8 with One Michelin Star, 25 Bib Gourmand picks and 74 Michelin Selected restaurants, plus 1 Green Star for sustainability. (guide.michelin.com) The geography is wider than central Manila. Michelin’s inspectors covered Makati, Manila, Mandaluyong, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon City, San Juan and Taguig, along with Pampanga, Tagaytay and Cavite, and added Cebu as a separate pocket guide. (spot.ph) That matters for restaurants because Michelin’s stars and Bib Gourmand labels can redirect tourist traffic, reshape reservation demand and lift a city’s profile with overseas diners who plan trips around guidebooks. Michelin described the Philippines edition as its first selection for the country and part of a broader expansion of its dining guides in Asia. (guide.michelin.com) Philippine officials are tying the guide to a broader food-and-tourism push. In a Singapore release dated April 22, 2026, the Philippine Embassy called the Manila and Environs and Cebu guidebook a “major milestone” for the country’s culinary sector during Filipino Food Month. (philippine-embassy.org.sg) The starred list gave the country an immediate top tier. Michelin awarded Helm in Manila Two Michelin Stars, while eight restaurants received One Michelin Star in the debut year. (guide.michelin.com) Cebu’s inclusion also pushed the guide beyond the capital from day one. Local reporting in October said 15 Cebu restaurants made the first Michelin Guide Philippines selection, giving the island province a direct place in the launch instead of waiting for a later edition. (cebudailynews.inquirer.net) For diners, the guide does not only mean luxury tasting menus. Michelin’s Bib Gourmand category highlights restaurants the company says offer good quality food at a moderate price, which broadens the list beyond formal fine dining rooms. (guide.michelin.com) The next test is whether the book changes travel patterns as much as the badge changes restaurant reputations. Michelin has already made the Philippines legible to its global audience in the same shorthand it uses everywhere else: stars, Bibs and a city-by-city map. (michelin.com)
