Slay the Spire 2 hit early access on March 5, 2026, introducing a host of new features to the roguelike deckbuilder. One of the biggest additions is four-player online co-op, letting players climb the Spire together for the first time. Each player maintains their own deck, relics, and gold, but shares the same map and encounters, requiring team coordination. The sequel includes two new characters, alongside three returning favorites, and over 100 new cards in early access. A new class called the Necrobinder allows players to spend health to draw cards or trigger effects. The game also features relic upgrades at campsites and dynamic enemy AI that adapts to the player's board state. Mega Crit initially aimed for a 2025 release but delayed it to March 2026 for polish. They also shifted from the Unity engine to Godot for improved performance and modding potential. While currently PC-only, a mobile version is planned after the early access phase. The developers have stated that they are not fans of microtransactions.
