GPT-5.2 was released on December 11, 2025, after an internal "Code Red" at OpenAI. Google's Gemini 3 Pro was cited as the reason for accelerating the release. GPT-5.2 comes in three modes: Instant, Thinking, and Pro. Claude 4.5 is a family of three AI models: Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.5. Opus 4.5 is considered the flagship model and "the best model in the world for coding, agents, and computer use". Anthropic significantly reduced the API pricing for Opus-class models. Grok 4 was launched on July 9, 2025, by Elon Musk's xAI. Grok 4 comes in generalist and developer variants, featuring enhanced reasoning and a 131,072 token context window. Grok 4 integrates vision and real-time web search. OpenAI's o3 model is designed to devote additional deliberation time when addressing questions that require step-by-step logical reasoning. O3 is optimized for tasks requiring sophisticated reasoning and large-scale data processing. O3 can use search, Python, image generation, and interpretation to achieve its tasks. Gemini 3 Pro was released on November 18, 2025, and is available across a suite of Google products. Gemini 3 Pro introduces new features to improve performance, control, and multimodal fidelity. Gemini 3.1 Pro, an upgraded version, was released on February 19, 2026.
