Spectrum Launches 'Invincible WiFi' with 5G Backup
Spectrum has launched a new service called Invincible WiFi™, which integrates WiFi 7 with 5G cellular and battery backup. The service is designed to provide constant connectivity by seamlessly switching to 5G in the event of a power outage or network disruption. It is available for both residential and business customers.
- The service is designed to keep devices online for up to eight hours during a power outage, thanks to an included battery backup unit. - In the event of a primary internet service interruption, the system automatically switches to a 5G cellular network connection, which comes with unlimited data. However, after 100GB of monthly backup data usage, speeds are reduced to 30 Mbps for both upload and download. - The WiFi 7 router provides coverage for up to 2,000 square feet and can support over 200 devices simultaneously. - The Invincible WiFi router was recognized by WiFi Now as the “Best In-Home WiFi Product” and features a Red Dot award-winning design. - For residential customers, the service is included at no extra cost with a 2 Gig Internet plan. Customers with an Internet Gig plan can add it for $10 per month, while it costs $20 per month for all other Spectrum Internet tiers. - For business customers, Invincible WiFi is also included with 2 Gig internet plans and is available to other business internet customers for $30 per month. - The system is managed through the My Spectrum App, which allows for setup and control of the WiFi network. - Dave Rodrian is the Group Vice President of WiFi Products at Spectrum and was involved in the launch of the service.
