The trust says its work spans relief for poor families, medical aid, education, Sanskrit studies, fine arts and creative writing. (bhramara.org) On its website, the trust says it instituted the Prof. Y.T. Thathachari research award for pioneering work in physics, chemistry, mathematics, biological sciences and medical sciences. It also says it gives lifetime achievement awards and music awards, including the Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi Award for young Carnatic vocalists in Karnataka. (bhramara.org) The trust’s activities page says the research award carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh and sits alongside school science demonstrations, scholarships and support for laboratories and classrooms. The same page says the trust has also backed Sanskrit publications, lectures and arts competitions. (bhramara.org) The April 24 programme lands in a week of larger religious and cultural activity in Mysuru. Sri Krishna Seva Samithi Charitable Trust has scheduled its 35th Brahmothsava at the Sri Krishna Temple in Gokulam 3rd Stage from April 23 to April 29, with rituals and cultural events each day. (starofmysore.com) For Mysuru, that puts two familiar civic patterns side by side on the same day: a temple trust’s festival calendar and a local philanthropic trust’s public award ceremony. By Friday evening, both will have turned community institutions into stages for religion, research and recognition. (starofmysore.com, starofmysore.com)
