FUT Esports won PGL Bucharest 2026 on April 11, beating Astralis 3-1 in the Counter-Strike 2 grand final for the organization’s first top-tier LAN title. (hltv.org) The final turned on three one-sided maps: FUT won Ancient 13-5, Mirage 13-5 and Dust2 13-3, while Astralis took only Nuke in overtime, 16-14. (hltv.org) FUT reached the trophy match with a 3-0 group stage in Bucharest, then swept B8 2-0 and The MongolZ 2-0 in the playoffs. Astralis entered the final as a familiar opponent in what HLTV called the teams’ sixth meeting of 2026. (hltv.org) Counter-Strike 2’s biggest events are offline tournaments, or LANs, where teams play in the same venue instead of online. HLTV described this as FUT’s first notable LAN trophy since the organization entered Counter-Strike about a year ago. (hltv.org) The result lands differently because FUT is still a new name at this level. The roster’s average age is 19.3, coach András “coolio” Fercsák leads a lineup of dem0n, lauNX, Krabeni, cmtry and dziugss, and HLTV listed the team at No. 11 in the world on April 14. (hltv.org) FUT had already shown they could hang in deep brackets before Bucharest. HLTV said the team made its first big-event playoff at ESL Pro League Season 23 and finished fourth after starting that event in Stage 1. (hltv.org) Bucharest also came with a softer field than some recent top events. HLTV noted that Vitality, MOUZ, FURIA and Falcons were absent, a gap FUT used by converting a clean run into a title instead of another near miss. (hltv.org) The team’s next tests are already on the calendar. HLTV listed BLAST 2026 Rivals Season 1 and Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta before FUT’s first Major campaign at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne. (hltv.org) For now, Bucharest moved FUT from upset threat to trophy winner. LauNX said after the match that he “did not fully expect to win the grand final,” then added, “I can’t wait to go to the next tournament.” (hltv.org)
