DJ Moore Traded to Buffalo Bills
The Chicago Bears traded WR DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills in one of the biggest NFL offseason moves. Fantasy analysts expect Moore's arrival to give Josh Allen's receiving corps a major boost and elevate both players' fantasy value for the upcoming season.
In exchange for DJ Moore and a 2026 fifth-round draft pick, the Chicago Bears will receive a 2026 second-round selection from the Buffalo Bills. This move provides the Bears with valuable draft capital while the Bills secure a veteran receiver for quarterback Josh Allen. The trade cannot be officially processed until the new league year begins. The trade clears $16.5 million in salary cap space for the Bears, who had signed Moore to a four-year, $110 million contract extension, the largest in franchise history. Moore was slated to have a $28.5 million cap hit in 2026. For Buffalo, the deal signifies a commitment to Moore, with the team guaranteeing $15.5 million of his 2028 base salary. Moore is coming off a season where he recorded career lows in catches (50) and receiving yards (682). This dip in production was influenced by a run-heavy offense and the emergence of younger pass-catchers in Chicago, such as Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. Despite the down year, Moore has four seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards in his eight-year career. The move reunites Moore with new Bills head coach Joe Brady, who was the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers during two of Moore's most productive seasons. Under Brady in 2020 and 2021, Moore surpassed 1,100 receiving yards in both campaigns. In 2020, he averaged a career-high 18.1 yards per catch. Buffalo has been searching for a consistent top wide receiver since trading Stefon Diggs in the 2024 offseason. For the past two seasons, Khalil Shakir has been the Bills' leading receiver but has not broken the 900-yard mark. The addition of Moore is expected to provide a significant boost to a receiving corps that lacked consistent production throughout the 2025 season.
