GreenArrow Acquires Narwhal Group for Smart Transit

Transportation infrastructure firm GreenArrow Holdings has acquired The Narwhal Group, a specialized provider of transportation products. The deal is aimed at accelerating innovation in intelligent transportation systems and advanced infrastructure.

The acquisition brings a mature forecasting division into GreenArrow's portfolio. The Narwhal Group's Weathernet service has been providing 24/7 weather-based impact forecasting for over 35 years to clients across the United States and Canada, specializing in road and airport operations. This includes customized decision support and direct phone access to meteorologists during dynamic weather events. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, The Narwhal Group evolved from a sole proprietorship focused on road weather operations, founded in 2010. The firm is a full-service technology company offering consulting, field services, hardware, and software for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and road weather information systems (RWIS). A key example of The Narwhal Group's expertise is its nationally unique program with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). This initiative embeds staff meteorologists within the Traffic Operations Center to provide year-round, area-specific weather forecasts for maintenance, construction, and incident management. The acquisition is part of a broader "land and expand" growth strategy for GreenArrow, a platform company formed by private equity firm CAI Capital Partners in early 2025. GreenArrow was established by merging three specialized electrical infrastructure services companies to create a national provider. GreenArrow has been actively acquiring companies to build its national footprint. Following its initial mergers, the company made at least three additional acquisitions in late 2025 in Florida and California, growing its employee count to over 650. The parent company, CAI Capital Partners, is a private equity firm that has invested C$1.6 billion over three decades, focusing on founder-owned, lower middle-market businesses in the U.S. and Canada. GreenArrow's CEO is Lloyd Kuehn, an executive with over 35 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry.
