Major League Volleyball Appoints First Commissioner

Major League Volleyball has appointed Jaime Weston as its first-ever Commissioner. The move marks a key milestone for the professional women's volleyball league as it enters its third season and aims for broader recognition in the U.S.

Jaime Weston brings over two decades of experience in sports, media, and entertainment to the role, including more than 15 years as a marketing executive in the NFL's front office. Before joining Major League Volleyball, she served as the Chief Commercial Officer for USA Volleyball, the national governing body for the sport. Her extensive background also includes roles as the EVP/Global Consumer Marketing at Universal Music Group and Chief Marketing Officer at On Location, a premium hospitality company. Throughout her career, Weston has focused on building fandom and growing brand equity. Major League Volleyball (MLV) has recently seen significant growth, hitting one million fans in attendance. The league expanded its national footprint following a merger with the Pro Volleyball Federation in August 2025 and now features eight teams in major media markets. The league has established a broadcast presence with a comprehensive slate of partners, including CBS, Roku, Vice, and Ion. This media distribution is a key part of the strategy to build a strong on-court and broadcast product in its third season. MLV is poised for further expansion, with three new franchises in Minnesota, Sacramento, and D.C. set to join in 2027, which will bring the total number of teams to 11. Weston, a former Georgia Tech volleyball player, has stated that a primary focus will be on strengthening the pipeline from college volleyball to the professional level. Her appointment is seen by league ownership as a move to instill governance, capital discipline, and strategic market selection for future growth.
