Newquay's Street Art Scene

The Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has been actively supporting the street art scene, contributing funding from the Town Regeneration and Investment Programme. This investment aims to enhance the town center and attract more visitors by creating a unique and visually appealing environment. The "MUQY Street Art Trail," curated by Slapdash Studios, highlights murals by artists like Kleiner Shames, Elle Koziupa, 45RPM, and Hixxy. These murals aim to reflect Newquay's heritage and identity, turning the town into an accessible art gallery. Each mural includes a QR code linking to the Love Newquay website, providing the story behind the art. Newquay BID is launching "The Door Art Tour" in 2026, offering a £1,000 prize for the best artwork painted on a high street door. This initiative seeks to create a smaller-scale trail connecting the existing murals, encouraging exploration of the town center. Businesses can volunteer their doors, and local artists are invited to apply and collaborate on designs.
