HONOR Demos AI Phone and Humanoid Robot at MWC

At Mobile World Congress 2026, HONOR unveiled its vision for an AI-powered device ecosystem. The company showcased new innovations including a robotic phone, a humanoid robot, and its new Magic V6 flagship model.

The company's MWC 2026 showing is part of a broader strategic shift under CEO Jian Li, who took the helm in January 2025. Li is spearheading a transformation from a smartphone manufacturer to a global AI device ecosystem company, backed by a planned $10 billion investment into building out this vision over the next five years. This initiative, dubbed the "ALPHA PLAN," is built on three pillars: Alpha Phone, Alpha Store, and Alpha Lab. The "Robot Phone" concept, which first appeared as a non-functional prototype at CES, was shown in a working state at MWC. It features a 200MP camera on a three-axis gimbal that emerges from the phone's body, enabling features like AI object tracking and advanced video stabilization. HONOR is positioning the device as a "new species of smartphone" with "embodied AI" that can physically interact by nodding or "dancing" to music. The device is slated for a release in the second half of 2026, though it may initially be limited to China. Alongside the robotic phone, HONOR's first humanoid robot made a memorable debut by performing a backflip and moonwalking on stage. The company is targeting the consumer market with this robot, envisioning it for roles like shopping assistance, workplace inspections, and supportive companionship. This move into robotics differentiates HONOR from competitors like Xiaomi, which also has a history in robotics with its CyberDog, and Lenovo, which showcased a smaller desktop robotic arm concept called "AI Workmate" at MWC 2026. The new flagship foldable, the Magic V6, pushes the boundaries of thinness for such devices, measuring just 8.75mm when closed. It's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and houses a large 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery. The device also boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, a first for a foldable phone. Expanding its AI-powered ecosystem, HONOR also launched the MagicPad 4 tablet and the MagicBook Pro 14 laptop. The MagicPad 4 is an ultra-slim 4.8mm tablet with a 165Hz 3K OLED display, running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform. The MagicBook Pro 14 is driven by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and features a 14.6-inch OLED display.
