RedCloud Activates Agentic AI Across Trade Network
Global trade technology company RedCloud announced it has surpassed 100,000 customers. In conjunction with the milestone, the company has activated its agentic AI infrastructure across its network of retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
RedCloud, founded in 2014 by Justin Floyd and Soumaya Hamzaoui, operates a B2B marketplace focused on supply chain financing for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). The London-based company aims to connect brands, distributors, and retailers through its AI-powered platform, particularly in emerging markets. The company went public on the Nasdaq in March 2025 under the ticker "RCT". The company's platform, Red101, digitizes the supply chain to provide real-time sales data, which helps distributors analyze market trends and enables dynamic pricing. For retailers, it simplifies ordering stock from distributors through an app. RedCloud's business model is consumption-based, charging brands and distributors for transactions made on the platform. Agentic AI represents a leap from traditional AI, which typically provides recommendations, to systems that can autonomously make and execute decisions. In a supply chain context, this means the AI can independently source alternative suppliers, negotiate terms, and place orders in response to disruptions without human intervention. This technology aims to create self-optimizing ecosystems that can proactively manage logistics. The AI in the supply chain market is projected to reach $157.6 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 42.7% from 2024. Companies like Amazon and DHL are already using AI agents to streamline warehouse operations and optimize logistics in real-time. Agentic AI is designed to handle complex tasks with minimal human oversight, adapting its plans in dynamic environments. CEO Justin Floyd is a serial entrepreneur with a 25-year history of founding and investing in technology companies. His previous ventures include Vecta Software, a cloud intelligence company, and Cambridge Medical Robotics. Floyd's stated mission for RedCloud is to reduce the cost of consumer products while economically empowering small retailers. As of September 2024, RedCloud's platform had over 500 distributors, 6,000 brands, and 25,000 retailers registered. The company operates in markets including Argentina, Brazil, Nigeria, and South Africa. Recent strategic moves include a joint venture in Turkey and an entry into Saudi Arabia's $60 billion FMCG market.
