Capcom officially announced the story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem after the game sold over 5 million copies in its first week. Game director Koshi Nakanishi thanked fans in a video message, also confirming that the DLC is currently in development. The story expansion aims to explore the world of Requiem more deeply. However, Nakanishi indicated that it will still be a while before the expansion is released. In the meantime, Capcom is planning to release a free update in May that will include a new mini-game and a much-requested photo mode. Many fans speculate the mini-game will be the series' popular Mercenaries mode.
