Emily Watson stars as Mother Superior Valya Harkonnen, leader of the Sisterhood, with Olivia Williams as her sister, Reverend Mother Tula Harkonnen. The Harkonnen sisters struggle to maintain the Sisterhood's power and combat forces that threaten humanity's future. The younger versions of Valya and Tula are played by Jessica Barden and Emma Canning, respectively. Other cast members include Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart, an Imperial soldier, and Jodhi May as Empress Natalya, Emperor Javicco's consort. Chris Mason plays Keiran Atreides, a swordmaster, while Shalom Brune-Franklin is Mikaela, a Fremen woman serving the royal family. The series will also delve into the roots of both the Harkonnen and Atreides families.
