Novo Nordisk’s new Wegovy access options

Novo Nordisk has launched a subscription‑style program for Wegovy through telehealth partners Ro, WeightWatchers, and LifeMD, offering another channel to obtain the medication (managedhealthcareexecutive.com). Media reports also note a new injectable option that reduces dosing frequency is being made available to some users (dailyrecord.co.uk). These moves broaden both commercial access paths and dosing formats for people seeking GLP‑1‑based weight management ( ).

Novo Nordisk has opened a new Wegovy subscription channel in the United States, routing cash-paying patients through Ro, WeightWatchers, and LifeMD. (novonordisk-us.com) (managedhealthcareexecutive.com) Novo Nordisk said March 31, 2026 that the program is the “first and only multi-month subscription program” for Food and Drug Administration-approved Wegovy, with savings of up to $1,200 a year for the injectable pen. Ro said the same day that patients can save up to $1,200 a year on the pen and up to $600 a year on the pill through its Novo Nordisk collaboration. (novonordisk-us.com) (ro.co) The company is pairing that subscription push with more formats. Novo Nordisk’s United States site says Wegovy is now offered as a once-daily pill as well as the 2.4 milligram injection, and Ro launched access to the pill on January 5, 2026. (novocare.com) (ro.co) Wegovy is semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 drug that mimics a gut hormone tied to appetite and blood sugar. NovoCare says the pill is Food and Drug Administration-approved for chronic weight management in adults, while the pen remains the better-known weekly injectable version. (novocare.com 1) (novocare.com 2) Novo Nordisk has been widening its direct-to-patient routes for months. Managed Healthcare Executive reported in July 2025 that Novo Nordisk tied up with WeightWatchers and rolled out a $299 self-pay Wegovy offer, then expanded telehealth fulfillment later to Hims & Hers, LifeMD, and Ro through NovoCare Pharmacy. (managedhealthcareexecutive.com 1) (managedhealthcareexecutive.com 2) The pricing is being tuned by dose and channel. NovoCare says new patients using its savings offer and NovoCare Pharmacy can pay $199 a month for each of the two lowest injectable doses, 0.25 milligrams and 0.5 milligrams, for two monthly fills between November 17, 2025 and June 30, 2026. (novocare.com 1) (novocare.com 2) For the pill, NovoCare partners are advertising lower self-pay entry prices. LifeMD says the Wegovy pill starts at $149 self-pay and the pen starts at $199 self-pay, while WeightWatchers says its Med+ program offers access to the Wegovy pill as the first Food and Drug Administration-approved oral glucagon-like peptide-1 for weight loss. (lifemd.com) (weightwatchers.com) Novo Nordisk is also using the launch to steer patients toward branded supply and away from copycat versions. Its NovoCare site says compounded semaglutide is not Food and Drug Administration-approved and warns patients about compounded and counterfeit products. (novocare.com) (novonordisk-us.com) The result is a broader menu than Wegovy buyers had a year ago: more telehealth front doors, more posted cash prices, and a choice between a weekly shot and a daily pill. Novo Nordisk’s latest move keeps the drug’s expansion focused as much on how patients get it as on the medicine itself. (managedhealthcareexecutive.com) (novocare.com)
