Bungie has made Marathon’s early runs less punishing by letting players carry more healing and armor consumables in each inventory slot. (bungie.net) In Update 1.0.6.1, released April 21, Bungie raised Depleted Patch Kits and Depleted Shield Charges to stacks of six, up from three. The same patch also changed Standard Sponsored Kits to come in stacks of six. Those are all item-economy changes aimed at keeping new players supplied earlier in a run. That structure makes inventory space unusually important because every slot used for healing is one less slot for loot you can extract.
