Valextra turned its Milan flagship into a design installation for Milan Design Week, using bags and leather goods as cues for a walk-through interior project. (lofficielusa.com) The project, called “Soft & Tender Topographies,” was presented with Athens- and New York-based studio Objects of Common Interest during Milan Design Week 2026, which ran from April 20 to April 26. Objects of Common Interest also listed the installation at Valextra’s Via Manzoni flagship for the same April 20–26 dates. (lofficielusa.com) (objectsofcommoninterest.com) L’Officiel reported that the installation used white Greek stone, glossy marble curves and references to Valextra codes including its black Costa lacquer edging and Pergamena White tone. Corriere della Sera’s Living section described curved three-dimensional volumes inserted into the Via Manzoni boutique. (lofficielitalia.com) (living.corriere.it) The setup pushed Valextra further into the home-and-design space at a moment when fashion labels are using Fuorisalone to show themselves as lifestyle brands, not only apparel or accessories makers. Fuorisalone’s 2026 guide grouped Valextra with other fashion brands mounting dedicated design-week projects across Milan. (fuorisalone.it) That strategy sits inside a bigger Milan calendar. The City of Milan said Milan Design Week 2026 took place alongside the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, with events spread across the city from April 20 to April 26. (comune.milano.it) Objects of Common Interest is led by Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, whose studio says it focuses on still-life installations, experiential environments and objects. In interviews around the project, the pair described the Valextra commission as an exploration of mass and lightness inside a retail space. (objectsofcommoninterest.com) (lofficielusa.com) Valextra anchored the work in its own store rather than a fair booth, making the boutique itself part of the exhibition. Interni’s Fuorisalone listing placed the event at Valextra’s flagship on Via A. Manzoni 3, with public opening hours from April 21 to April 26 and a press day and cocktail on April 22. (internimagazine.com) By the end, the installation was selling an idea as much as an object: Valextra’s leather goods could be read as architecture, furniture cues and material studies inside one branded room. That is the lane many luxury houses now chase in Milan each April. (lofficielusa.com) (fuorisalone.it)
