Microsoft is actively hiring freshers for Software Engineer roles at its Hyderabad, India location. The positions are open to candidates with a Bachelor's in CS and 0-1 years of experience, offering a salary of up to ₹16 LPA, indicating continued global demand for entry-level tech talent despite market shifts in the US.

Hyderabad is rapidly cementing its status as a premier tech hub, challenging Bangalore's dominance. The city is now a leading destination for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), attracting 41-46% of new additions compared to Bangalore's 30-33%, thanks to a deep talent pool and lower operational costs. Tech giants like Google, Amazon, and Meta have major operations there, transforming the city into a hub for AI-driven research and development. Microsoft's presence in Hyderabad is its largest research and development center outside of the United States. The company recently inaugurated a new 1.1 million square-foot campus and has plans to invest ₹15,000 crore (approximately $1.8 billion) to expand its hyperscale AI data centers in the state, signaling a long-term strategic commitment to the region. This hiring initiative is part of a broader expansion, with Microsoft planning to add thousands of new employees in Hyderabad. The city is home to more than half of Microsoft's 20,000+ employees in India, and the company has also been acquiring large plots of land for further data center development. The push for fresh talent aligns with a projected 12-15% growth in India's overall tech job market in 2026, which is expected to create around 125,000 new roles. Demand for professionals with skills in AI, machine learning, data engineering, and cybersecurity has surged by 51% as companies move from AI pilots to full-scale deployment. For new graduates, a compensation package at Microsoft India often includes more than just the base salary. Entry-level packages can also consist of stocks and bonuses, with the total compensation for a new grad potentially reaching around ₹24 lakhs per year. This expansion in India is also part of a larger global strategy for major US tech firms. As H-1B visas face increased scrutiny in the United States, companies are increasingly looking to their international hubs, particularly in India, to secure high-skilled tech talent for global projects.
