New Korean Restaurant, Target, and Lidl to Open in North Jersey

A new Korean restaurant is set to open in North Jersey, alongside new locations for retailers Target and Lidl. The new businesses are expected to expand the retail and dining options for residents in the region.

- The new Target in West Orange is a 150,000-square-foot store located at 235 Prospect Avenue in the West Orange Plaza, slated to open on March 15, 2026. It replaces a former Kmart that was used as a COVID-19 vaccination site and is part of a larger redevelopment of the plaza that will include a pollinator garden and more EV charging stations. - Another Target is scheduled to open on the same day, March 15, 2026, in Jersey City's Journal Square at 36 Journal Square. This 40,000-square-foot location will feature a Starbucks and a CVS Pharmacy and is expected to hire almost 100 employees. - The German grocery chain Lidl opened a new store in Paramus on February 12, 2025, at 651 RT-17. This is one of more than 20 Lidl locations in New Jersey, with another set to open in Hackensack. - The West Orange Target is part of a significant overhaul of the West Orange Plaza managed by Levin Management Corporation. The project includes the construction of two new buildings, an 8,400-square-foot structure and a 5,500-square-foot addition, with the first phase expected to be completed by the end of 2026. - The Journal Square Target is located on the ground floor of "The Journal," a high-rise building recently completed by Kushner Companies adjacent to the Journal Square Transportation Center. - Lidl's expansion in Bergen County now includes four locations: the new Paramus store, existing markets in Bergenfield and Elmwood Park, and a future store in Hackensack. - The West Orange Target will be the 53rd location in New Jersey and the second in Essex County.
