WEBTOON Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation expanded their joint development slate this week with four additional animated adaptations drawn from WEBTOON’s digital comics catalog. The companies disclosed the projects during Web Summit Vancouver 2026, adding to a partnership they first announced in November 2025. The new titles are “The Wolf & Red Riding Hood,” “Vampire Family,” “Sable Curse,” and “Snow and Briar (And The Mirror of Seven Sins).” No release dates, platforms or final formats have been announced for any of the projects. ### Which four webcomics were added to the slate? “The Wolf & Red Riding Hood,” created by XUANN, centers on a high school student named Anna who begins turning into a werewolf, according to WEBTOON’s release. “Vampire Family,” by unfins, follows Natalia, a vampire trying to live a normal school life in the human world. “Sable Curse,” by Little Melon, follows Terron, who is trying to break a spell that will kill her at 19, WEBTOON said. “Snow and Briar (And The Mirror of Seven Sins),” by M. (about.webtoon.com) Nires, is built around Prince Snow and Princess Briar in a fairy-tale setting shaped by palace intrigue. ### How does this fit into the Warner Bros.-WEBTOON deal announced last year? November 12, 2025 was the date WEBTOON Entertainment said it planned to work with Warner Bros. (about.webtoon.com) Animation on a slate of 10 fan-favorite series for global distribution. At that time, the companies said the projects would be selected from WEBTOON’s Korean and English-language platforms and supported by WEBTOON’s U.S. and Japanese teams. The initial group named in that 2025 announcement included “The Stellar Swordmaster,” “Hardcore Leveling Warrior,” “Down to Earth” and “Elf & Warrior.” With the four newly disclosed projects, eight titles have now been publicly identified under the broader arrangement. ### Who announced the expansion, and where? Web Summit Vancouver 2026 was the venue where the companies shared the new slate details. (about.webtoon.com) Trade outlets including Deadline and Variety reported that WEBTOON Entertainment CFO David J. Lee and Warner Bros. Animation President Sam Register presented the announcement during a conference panel. April 30, 2026 was when WEBTOON previewed its Web Summit programming and said Warner Bros. (about.webtoon.com) Animation would join one of its featured sessions on how webcomics are moving “from scroll to screen.” That event listing named Sam Register as a panelist and described the session as a discussion of how digital-native stories and fandoms are being adapted across film and television. ### What have the companies said about the partnership itself? (deadline.com) Yongsoo Kim, WEBTOON’s chief strategy officer and head of global WEBTOON, said in the November announcement that the company’s creators were building franchises that Gen Z audiences follow and that Warner Bros. Animation offered a way to extend those stories further. Sam Register said at the time that Warner Bros. Animation and WEBTOON together created “an awesome combination and opportunity to build something special.” (about.webtoon.com) WEBTOON said the partnership is part of a larger push to adapt creator-owned stories for global audiences. Variety reported that the co-productions could become films or series, but said those decisions have not yet been disclosed for the newly named projects. Variety also reported that creators retain ownership of the intellectual property under their agreements and receive a share of revenue generated by animation projects. (about.webtoon.com) ### What is still unknown about the four projects? No streamer, network, theatrical plan or production timetable has been attached publicly to any of the four new titles. The companies also have not said which of the projects, if any, will move first into production. WEBTOON’s May 2026 release said the four additions join a broader development slate already spanning romance, fantasy, action and comedy. (variety.com) The next public milestones are likely to come when WEBTOON Entertainment or Warner Bros. Animation identifies the remaining titles in the 10-project arrangement or assigns formats and release windows to the eight projects already named. (about.webtoon.com)
