Async Intros AI Framework for Media Production
The company Async has introduced a new agentic AI framework aimed at automating audio and video production. The technology is designed to scale creative processes that are traditionally manual and labor-intensive.
- The company, which recently rebranded from Podcastle, was founded by CEO Arto Yeritsyan. To date, Async has raised $23.5 million in total funding from investors including Andrew Ng's AI Fund, Mosaic Ventures, and Sierra Ventures. - The new chat-based workflow is designed to reduce the post-production time for a standard one-hour recording from 20-48 hours down to just minutes. This shifts the creator's role from a hands-on editor to a high-level director who provides natural language instructions. - This launch addresses a gap in the market where, according to an Adobe report, 86% of creators use generative AI, but still depend on manual processes for reviewing and assembling content. - The market for agentic AI in media and content creation is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 35.9% through 2030. - Alongside the new framework for creators, Async has also released the Async Voice API, which provides developers with access to its low-latency voice production engine for building real-time conversational agents and streaming tools. - The company is shifting to a hybrid pricing model; a standard subscription provides access to the production studio, while generative AI features are paid for with credits. The API operates on a separate pay-as-you-go basis. - The new agentic features are currently available for audio production, with video capabilities planned for a later date. New users are being offered a one-week free trial to test the new workflow.
