Chef Travels 15,200km Across India

Chef Prasad just launched his "Desi Eats" tasting menu at Dhoom Indian Streatery & Bar after traveling 15,200 km across India over 9 months. He explored 12 regional cuisines to create a menu celebrating Indian street food stories and flavors. The launch includes a promo video and is generating buzz for weekend dining.

This "Desi Eats" menu is the 13th created by Chef Dhaneshwar Prasad since his multi-award-winning restaurant opened in 2018. Each of the handpicked dishes has been specially adapted for Scottish diners. The 10-course tasting menu launched on March 4, 2026, and represents a culinary tour of the Indian subcontinent. It features street food classics like Veg Bhajia from Kolkata, Paneer Tikka Makhanwala from Delhi, and a tangy Chowpatty Sev Puri Chaat inspired by the beaches of Mumbai. From the northwestern state of Rajasthan comes Lamb Laal Maans, a rich curry slow-cooked with mathania chili paste. The menu also includes a Kokum Fish Curry, which captures the signature tangy taste of India's Konkan Coast. One unique dish is the Pesto Lamb Chapli Kebab, a healthier take on a classic recipe from Lucknow influenced by Afghan settlers. Chef Prasad's version is steamed and grilled rather than fried. The menu also holds a personal touch for the chef. The final dish is a homely lentil dish called Dal Masoor, which is dedicated to his mother. Dhoom, located in Dunfermline, has received numerous accolades, including an AA Rosette for three consecutive years. The restaurant was also recently named the February 2026 winner of the Dunfermline and Dollar Community Award for its outstanding service.
