Busbud Names Top US Ground Travel

Busbud announced the winners of its 2026 Travelers' Best Awards for the United States, recognizing top operators delivering exceptional service. Peter Pan Bus Lines, Amtrak, and Red Coach led the pack, though specific criteria for the awards weren't disclosed.

Busbud's Travelers' Best Awards are determined by analyzing thousands of customer reviews from the previous year. Travelers rate their experiences based on overall satisfaction, punctuality, comfort, and amenities such as Wi-Fi. To be considered, companies must have received over 100 reviews. Peter Pan Bus Lines was founded in 1933 by Peter Carmine Picknelly with a route between Northampton and Boston. The company started with four Buick jitney vehicles, charging $1.75 for the 3.5-hour trip. The Picknelly family still owns and operates the company, now in its fourth generation. In 2024, Peter Pan partnered with Megabus, taking over Megabus routes in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Amtrak's newest service between New Orleans and Mobile has received high customer satisfaction scores, with 96% of customers reporting they were "extremely satisfied". In 2019, nearly 9 out of 10 Amtrak customers surveyed expressed overall satisfaction with their experience. Amtrak is working to improve customer service by using data to identify customer priorities and track employee responses to feedback. Red Coach operates bus routes in Florida and Texas, offering premium economy, business class, and first-class options. The first-class buses have 27 seats that fully recline, while business class buses have 38 reclining seats. Reviews mention comfortable seating, functioning outlets, and professional drivers, though some note issues with the website and Orlando station.
