Cross-platform RPG to launch on iOS and macOS

The urban open-world action RPG "Neverness to Everness" is slated to launch on April 29. The game, also referred to as NTE, will be available on iOS and macOS alongside PS5 and PC. Its release highlights a growing trend of sophisticated, high-performance games launching simultaneously across Apple's ecosystem and traditional gaming platforms.

- The game is developed by Hotta Studio, a subsidiary of Perfect World, which previously developed the cross-platform open-world game "Tower of Fantasy" using Unreal Engine 4. For "Neverness to Everness," the studio upgraded to Unreal Engine 5. - "Neverness to Everness" utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to support advanced rendering technologies like NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing. The development team has acknowledged that a significant challenge is optimizing this high-fidelity multi-platform experience, particularly for mobile devices. - The title will feature full cross-platform play and cross-progression, allowing users to maintain their character and story progress across all supported devices with the same account. - To run the game on iOS, the minimum hardware requirement is an iPhone 12 Pro, which is equipped with the A14 Bionic chip. The recommended device is an iPhone 14 Pro with the A16 Bionic chip and at least 6 GB of RAM. - Following its final closed beta in February 2026, the developer's roadmap includes addressing performance and stability issues and making dedicated improvements for the mobile version, such as enhancing character models, animations, and lip-syncing. - The launch is part of a wider industry trend where developers increasingly use standardized toolsets like Unreal Engine 5 for simultaneous multi-platform deployments. This "build once, play anywhere" strategy has become a default practice for a majority of major studios. - As of late February 2026, the game had already surpassed 25 million pre-registrations, indicating the scale of the user base the backend infrastructure will need to support from day one. - While fully cross-platform, the game is a console exclusive for the PlayStation 5 at launch, with no Xbox version announced.
