Trust Stamp to Provide IDetect with DMV Data
AI and identity solutions provider Trust Stamp has signed a contract with security firm IDetect. Under the agreement, Trust Stamp will give IDetect access to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators' (AAMVA) driver's license data verification service. This will support high-volume identity checks for IDetect's ID scanning and entrance security solutions.
- IDetect has been a provider of ID scanning and entrance security for over 25 years, with its technology used across more than 70 industries by clients including Marriott, Harrah's Casinos, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). - The AAMVA's Driver's License Data Verification (DLDV) service works by checking submitted data against the official records of the issuing motor vehicle agency in real-time, returning a confirmation if the data matches without exposing personal information. - This partnership elevates IDetect's service from document "authentication," which checks a card's physical security features, to "data verification," which confirms the information actually exists in a government database, a critical step in stopping sophisticated forgeries. - A stated goal of the integration is to reduce insurance liability for IDetect's customers; IDetect's systems have historically helped clients achieve lower liability insurance costs. - Verifying identity against government databases is a key part of the broader digital transformation in the insurance industry, used to speed up claims processing, reduce fraud, and comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. - The verification process is designed to be completed in about one second, and the partners anticipate the service will scale to handle millions of verifications per month. - Trust Stamp is a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq (IDAI) that provides AI-powered identity solutions to sectors including banking, healthcare, and government for fraud reduction and regulatory compliance.
