Vision Pro Pivots to Enterprise Market

Apple's Vision Pro isn't gaining mainstream traction, so Apple is revising its strategy to focus on enterprise and specialized markets. GB Railfreight in the UK is using the Vision Pro to train crews, saving over half a million euros. X-Plane 12 flight simulator is also now available on the headset, targeting aviation professionals.

While consumer adoption has been slow, the Vision Pro is gaining traction in enterprise, with some experts estimating that corporate customers account for most of the units sold since its 2024 launch. Half of Fortune 100 companies have already purchased the Vision Pro. Companies are finding the device useful for training and simulation, product design and prototyping, and data visualization. GB Railfreight is partnering with JigSpace to use the Vision Pro for training crews on the new Class 99 locomotives. The JigSpace app creates a true-to-scale, interactive 360° environment, allowing trainees to explore the locomotive's interior and exterior. This eliminates the need for travel to the Peterborough Training School, saving the operator over £500,000 (approximately €585,000) over two years. X-Plane 12, a popular flight simulator, will soon be available on Apple Vision Pro through Nvidia CloudXR 6.0. By using a companion app, the simulator can be streamed from a PC or cloud service to the Vision Pro. The simulator uses ARKit to track cockpit positions, merging the physical and digital worlds.
