New AI Infrastructure Protocols Launch on Solana

The Solana ecosystem is seeing the emergence of new AI-focused infrastructure projects. Perceptron Network is building a network of over 700,000 nodes to reward users for contributing bandwidth and performing AI validation. Separately, a project called Mentorable is developing an "Agentic Mentors" protocol to enable on-chain trading of AI agent skills, with a token launch planned.

- Perceptron Network was formed from a merger with BlockMesh in June 2025 and is classified as a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN). - The project is conducting a multi-stage airdrop for its $PERC token managed via the Mindo AI portal, with the final reward cycle scheduled to end on March 11, 2026. - The name "Perceptron" is a reference to the foundational single-neuron model for artificial neural networks first developed by Frank Rosenblatt in the 1950s. - These new protocols enter a growing Solana AI ecosystem that includes projects like Nosana, a decentralized GPU marketplace, and io.net, a decentralized computing platform. - Solana's high transaction speeds and low fees are considered advantageous for AI applications, which can require frequent, small transactions for tasks like data processing or model training. - While new AI projects are building on Solana, the ecosystem has also seen DePIN projects migrate to other chains
