Fatal House Fire in Brookfield
A house fire in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on March 2nd resulted in the deaths of two people and a dog. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
The victims of the fatal fire on Brookdale Drive have been identified by family members as 66-year-old Thomas Wall and his 26-year-old son, Dylan Wall. The family's dog, Django, also perished in the blaze. The Brookfield Fire Department received the call at approximately 7:13 a.m. and arrived on the scene to find the home under heavy fire conditions. Firefighters immediately began search and rescue operations upon hearing reports of people still inside the house. The fire was brought under control by 7:48 a.m. Neighbors reported waking up to the smell of smoke and the sight of flames, with some running to the house and banging on the door in an attempt to alert anyone inside before emergency crews arrived. Three Brookfield police officers who also responded to the scene sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. An investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is now underway. The Brookfield Fire and Police Departments are being assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations - State Fire Marshal's Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). At this preliminary stage, officials have stated they do not believe the fire is the result of criminal activity.
