MotoAmerica’s Superbike Speedfest wraps up Sunday, April 19, at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, where the 2026 championship opened with Superbikes racing on a 2.54-mile circuit north of Atlanta. (motoamerica.com) The event ran April 17-19 in Braselton, Georgia, with Friday qualifying and two full days of racing on Saturday and Sunday. MotoAmerica lists six classes at Road Atlanta: Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers, Twins Cup, Talent Cup, and Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. (motoamerica.com) Sunday’s fan schedule included a hot pit walk and autograph session at 10:45 a.m., then Race 2s for Talent Cup at 12:35 p.m., Supersport at 1:15 p.m., Superbike at 3:12 p.m., Mission King Of The Baggers at 4:05 p.m., and Twins Cup at 4:45 p.m. MotoAmerica’s event page also listed a Cardo and Harley-Davidson fan lap at 5 p.m. (motoamerica.com) This stop opened MotoAmerica’s 2026 Superbike season and doubled as the series’ “50 Years of Superbike Racing” kickoff. MotoAmerica said AMA Hall of Famer Scott Russell, the Georgia rider who won the 1992 AMA Superbike title, served as grand marshal. (motoamerica.com) Road Atlanta is one of the series’ signature tracks because the course packs 13 turns into 2.54 miles, drops 80 feet from Turn 11 to Turn 12, and sends bikes down a back straight that MotoAmerica says reaches more than 180 miles per hour. The track hosted its first AMA Superbike event in 1980, according to MotoAmerica. (motoamerica.com, motoamerica.com) For spectators, the weekend was built as more than grandstand viewing. MotoAmerica and Michelin Raceway said the paddock was open, more than 120 riders were on site, kids 12 and under got in free with a paying adult, and camping, VIP, and grid or pit access packages were sold separately. (motoamerica.com, michelinracewayroadatlanta.com) The entry list showed 27 riders in the Superbike class alone, including Cameron Beaubier, Mathew Scholtz, Sean Dylan Kelly, Bobby Fong, PJ Jacobsen, and Benjamin Smith. MotoAmerica said reigning champion Beaubier entered 2026 chasing a seventh Superbike crown after moving to a Ducati Panigale V4 R. (motoamerica.com, motoamerica.com) Saturday set up Sunday’s finish with Mathew Scholtz winning Superbike Race 1 at Road Atlanta, while MotoAmerica’s live standings showed Josh Herrin atop the early championship table on 25 points. By late weekend, the season opener had already started sorting out who leaves Georgia with momentum. (motoamerica.com, roadracingworld.com)
