Michelin widens US reach
Michelin’s 2026 footprint is spreading beyond big coastal cities — Tennessee’s new listings now cover 37 restaurants and even highlight Lunch in Sewanee as a recommended stop. The guide’s American expansion also explicitly touches the Great Lakes region, prompting local debates in Indianapolis about which restaurants might now deserve stars. Michelin is pushing deeper into the middle of the country, with Tennessee now listing 36 restaurants and a new Great Lakes edition set to cover Indianapolis and five other cities. Michelin’s 2026 American South ceremony is scheduled for October 21 in Nashville at The Pinnacle. In 2025, Michelin launched its first American South regional selection, and in April 2026 it announced an American Great Lakes edition.
