Lee Bul at M+

‘Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now’ at M+ is being billed as a highlight of Hong Kong Art Week for its exploration of 'failed utopias' and large, futuristic installations — Artsy recommends giving the show ample time to absorb the work ( ).

“Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now” opens at M+ in the West Gallery (L2) on March 14 and runs through August 9, 2026. (mplus.org.hk) The M+ presentation brings together more than 200 works from the artist’s studio and regional collections, including forty‑nine early pieces from the late 1990s and several works completed in 2024. (mplus.org.hk) The survey was co‑curated by Doryun Chong and June Young Kwak, with Heyeon Kim and Sunny Cheung listed as co‑curators on the exhibition team. (artforum.com) The show premiered at the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul (September–January 2026), where the Seoul presentation drew roughly 105,000 visitors during its four‑month run. (mplus.org.hk) M+ will stage large immersive works from Lee Bul’s Mon grand récit, Cyborg, Anagram and Perdu series, and the exhibition includes monumental installations such as Willing To Be Vulnerable — Metalized Balloon (listed at approximately 300 × 1700 × 300 cm). (artpil.com) M+ plans companion programming: the museum’s cinema will screen performance documentation during the run, general admission listings show tickets from about HK$190, and the exhibition is slated to travel to M HKA in Antwerp and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa after the Hong Kong presentation, concluding the tour in late 2027.
