Shakira Adds Third Mumbai Show

Due to overwhelming demand, Shakira added a third concert in Mumbai to her India tour at DY Patil Stadium on May 24. This follows sold-out performances scheduled for Delhi and Mumbai on May 21 and 22, affirming India's growing prominence as a major stop for international pop tours.

This return to India marks a 19-year gap since Shakira's last performance in the country. Her 2007 "Oral Fixation Tour" stop in Mumbai was a major event, drawing around 20,000 attendees, including prominent Bollywood figures. The addition of a third show at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 45,300-55,000, highlights the significant increase in demand for international artists since her last visit. This contrasts with the single 2007 concert, which at the time was considered one of the biggest international shows in India's history. This tour is part of the "Feeding India Concert" series, a non-profit initiative that has previously brought artists like Dua Lipa and Post Malone to the country. Shakira's involvement marks the first time the concert series has expanded to multiple cities, reflecting a growing infrastructure for large-scale tours. India's concert landscape has transformed since 2007, now being a regular stop for major global acts. Recent and upcoming tours include performances by Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Linkin Park, and John Mayer, solidifying the nation's position on the international touring circuit.
