Alcaraz Survives Indian Wells Scare

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz battled back from a set and a break down to defeat Arthur Rinderknech 6-7 (6/8), 6-3, 6-2 at Indian Wells.

Alcaraz struggled early, facing a tough challenge from Rinderknech's aggressive play and dropping the first set in a tiebreak. He was also down a break in the second set before finding his rhythm. Despite the slow start, Alcaraz elevated his game, showcasing his resilience and athleticism to dominate the final two sets. He broke Rinderknech's serve multiple times and controlled the rallies with his powerful groundstrokes. With this victory, Alcaraz advances to the fourth round at Indian Wells, keeping his hopes alive for another title. He is the defending champion at Indian Wells, having won the title in 2025. Alcaraz is set to face Fabian Marozsan in the next round. Marozsan defeated Thiago Seyboth Wild to advance.
