SplashBI Unveils AI-Powered Dashboards in Microsoft Teams

Analytics firm SplashBI has unveiled Tahoe, a new AI-powered dashboarding tool that integrates directly into Microsoft Teams. The tool allows users to ask questions about their data in natural language. This reflects a broader trend of embedding analytics and conversational AI into everyday collaboration platforms for agency and enterprise reporting.

Founded in 2014 by CEO Naveen Miglani, SplashBI is a privately held B2B SaaS company specializing in business analytics. Prior to this venture, Miglani held leadership roles at Oracle and GE Energy, and also founded EiS Technologies, an Oracle-focused IT services company. SplashBI is headquartered in Duluth, Georgia, and has not taken any outside funding. The "Tahoe" release represents a strategic push into conversational analytics, which allows users to ask questions of their data in plain English rather than writing complex code like SQL. This is powered by Natural Language Processing (NLP), a type of AI that interprets human language and translates it into database queries. For a marketing analyst, this means they could ask "Which email campaign had the highest click-through rate last quarter?" and get an immediate, structured answer without needing a data specialist. Embedding these tools into platforms like Microsoft Teams is a growing industry trend. Major competitors, including Tableau, Microsoft's own Power BI, and Qlik, all offer integrations that allow users to share dashboards and receive analytics alerts directly within the collaboration app. This move reduces the need for analysts to switch between different applications, keeping data-driven conversations in the flow of work. For marketing agencies, this type of tool can accelerate campaign analysis and reporting. An account manager could use it to instantly pull performance metrics for a client meeting, a strategist could explore customer segmentation by asking about demographic data, and an analyst could quickly identify underperforming ad creative without building a new dashboard from scratch. The AI can also assist in generating insights beyond simple queries. SplashBI's platform includes an "Analytics Co-Pilot" and AI-powered chart intelligence that can automatically explain trends and anomalies in the data, helping to uncover the "why" behind the numbers. This aims to speed up the process from data discovery to strategic decision-making. In 2020, SplashBI acquired Oracle Cloud Tools, which added a powerful query tool called SQLConnect to its portfolio for Oracle's suite of cloud applications (ERP/HCM/SCM/CX). This acquisition enhanced the company's capabilities in providing real-time data access and reducing the need for custom development work for clients using Oracle systems.
