Arlo Parks Announces Global Tour

Mercury Prize winner Arlo Parks announced a 2026 global tour supporting her new album 'Ambiguous Desire' (out April 3). Tour dates run August through December, with a special appearance alongside David Byrne in Ireland this June.

Arlo Parks' debut album, "Collapsed in Sunbeams," was a critical triumph, winning the 2021 Mercury Prize for Album of the Year. The judging panel praised its empathetic exploration of complex issues like mental health and sexuality. Her second studio album, "My Soft Machine," was released in 2023, continuing to build on the poetic, narrative-based songwriting that has earned her a reputation as the "voice of her generation." That album saw her collaborate with artists like Phoebe Bridgers and draw inspiration from bands like My Bloody Valentine. 'Ambiguous Desire' marks a significant sonic shift for the 25-year-old artist. Inspired by her immersion in New York's nightlife, the album moves towards a more electronic sound, fusing elements of house, techno, and UK garage with her signature vocals. The new record was crafted with producer Baird, known for his work with the hip-hop collective Brockhampton. This collaboration involved swapping live band sessions for modular synths and samplers, reflecting the "frenetic, vibrant spaces" Parks was inspired by. The album's central theme is desire, which Parks describes as a "life force, a wanting, a yearning, a momentum." The lead single, "2SIDED," captures this tension, telling the story of falling for someone on a night out. The special appearance with David Byrne connects Parks with a legendary figure in music. The former Talking Heads frontman recently released his first solo album in six years, "Who Is the Sky?," which features its own roster of acclaimed collaborators, including St. Vincent and Hayley Williams.
