Vision Pro Gets Cloud Gaming Boost

Apple's Vision Pro will soon support Nvidia's CloudXR 6.0, enabling streaming of high-performance games like X-Plane 12 directly from the cloud announced.

Nvidia's CloudXR 6.0 will allow Apple Vision Pro users to stream games like *X-Plane 12* and *iRacing* at up to 4K resolution and 120fps. This is made possible through visionOS 26.4, which introduces support for Nvidia's CloudXR 6.0 technology. CloudXR uses foveated streaming, focusing rendering quality on the area the user is looking at, which optimizes performance and visual quality. This technology requires eye-tracking hardware, making it compatible with Apple Vision Pro but not necessarily other headsets like Meta Quest. A companion app will be available in the App Store this spring, enabling users to connect their existing flight-sim hardware for an immersive experience. The app will use ARKit to track cockpit positions, blending the physical and digital environments. This update addresses a common complaint about the Vision Pro: the limited availability of VR games. By enabling cloud gaming, users can access a broader library of games, streaming them from Nvidia RTX systems.
