Wyoming FRNT adopts Chainlink proof
- The Wyoming Stable Token Commission said on September 2 it adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for FRNT, adding near-real-time onchain reserve verification. - Wyoming said The Network Firm examines FRNT reserves under AICPA standards, while Chainlink data helps ensure verified reserves match token supply. - Secure Mint is still being adopted; Wyoming’s FRNT reserve dashboard and daily attestation remain available on the commission website.
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission said on September 2 that it adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for Frontier Stable Token, or FRNT, the state’s official stablecoin. The move adds near-real-time onchain reserve verification to a token the commission says is already fully reserved and redeemable at $1.00. Wyoming said the system combines independent reserve examinations with automated publication of verified reserve data onchain. The commission also said it is in the process of adopting Chainlink’s Secure Mint feature, which would block new issuance unless verified reserves equal or exceed tokens outstanding. ### What exactly changed on September 2? The September 2 announcement added Chainlink Proof of Reserve to FRNT’s operating setup after Wyoming moved the token’s cross-chain infrastructure to Chainlink CCIP in August. The commission said the new layer is meant to give regulators, institutions and market participants more continuous visibility into whether FRNT remains fully backed. (prnewswire.com) FRNT is described on Wyoming’s website as “the first fiat-backed and fully-reserved stable token issued by a U.S. public entity.” The site says the token can be issued and redeemed for $1.00 and is backed by U.S. dollars, Treasuries and repurchase agreements. ### How is Wyoming checking the reserves behind FRNT? The Wyoming Stable Token Commission said The Network Firm examines FRNT’s reserve balances and token supply under AICPA standards, while Chainlink Proof of Reserve delivers the verified reserve data onchain in near real time. (prnewswire.com) Wyoming said that setup is intended to close the gap between periodic attestations and what users can verify onchain. (stabletoken.wyo.gov) Wyoming’s public reserve page showed total FRNT supply of 968,051.85 and total reserves at fair market value of $968,051.85, with a 100.00% collateralization ratio, in the latest attestation visible on the site. The page said the attestation was last updated on August 29, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. Mountain Time. ### What does “Secure Mint” do in practice? Chainlink says Secure Mint ties a token’s minting logic directly to reserve verification so that only collateralized assets can enter circulation. (prnewswire.com) Its documentation says the feature is designed to prevent unauthorized or unbacked minting and can pause minting when reserve thresholds are not met. The Block reported that Wyoming is still in the process of adopting Secure Mint for FRNT. (stabletoken.wyo.gov) Under that setup, verified reserves would have to equal or exceed FRNT’s total supply before any new tokens could be minted. ### Why is Wyoming pairing this with independent attestations? The GENIUS Act sets a federal baseline for stablecoin transparency, including monthly disclosure of reserve composition and outstanding supply supported by independent examination of month-end reporting, according to the September 2 release. (chain.link) Wyoming said it already goes further by publishing daily attestations on its website and is using Chainlink Proof of Reserve to add automated onchain verification between those reports. (theblock.co) Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, said in a statement that adopting Chainlink Proof of Reserve as Wyoming’s “exclusive onchain asset verification infrastructure” would provide “transparent, verifiable confirmation” that FRNT is fully backed by reserve assets. ### Where can users see the backing data now? (prnewswire.com) Wyoming’s stable token website says FRNT is available for public purchase on Kraken, a Wyoming-domiciled cryptocurrency exchange. The same site hosts the token’s reserve dashboard, daily attestation data and legal and compliance materials. The commission said Secure Mint is not yet fully in place, making that the next operational milestone to watch after the September 2 Proof of Reserve rollout. (theblock.co) Until then, the public reserve page, The Network Firm attestations and Chainlink’s onchain reserve verification are the named sources Wyoming is pointing users to for FRNT backing data.
