Seedance 2.0 AI Video Adds Real-World Physics
media.io's new Seedance 2.0 model aims to create more realistic cinematic scenes from simple prompts. The model incorporates real-world physics, multimodal controls, and 1080p output. This could significantly accelerate B-roll and explainer video creation for media professionals by generating more believable and dynamic shots.
Seedance 2.0 was developed by ByteDance, not media.io, and was officially unveiled in early 2026. It quickly gained attention for its ability to generate video and audio simultaneously, a key distinction from models that create silent videos and add audio in post-production. The model is built on a dual-branch diffusion transformer architecture, which processes visual and audio signals in parallel to ensure tight synchronization. This allows for frame-accurate sound effects, like footsteps or collisions, that align precisely with the visual action. Its multimodal capabilities allow for a mix of up to 12 files as input, including up to nine images, three videos, and three audio files. Users can reference specific elements from these inputs, such as using one video to dictate camera motion and an audio file to set the rhythm. The physics engine is designed to accurately simulate real-world interactions, ensuring objects move with realistic weight, momentum, and gravity. This applies to complex scenarios like vehicle chases, explosions, and falling debris. Seedance 2.0 can generate multi-shot sequences of up to 15 seconds in a single pass, creating the feel of an edited sequence with natural cuts and transitions. The output resolution is 1080p, which preserves clarity for post-production work like zooming without significant pixelation. Beyond text prompts, the model offers director-level camera controls, executing complex movements like dolly zooms, tracking shots, and rack focuses. This level of control, combined with its physics and audio generation, aims to reduce the "AI-fake" feel in dialogue and action scenes.
