XPeng EV Deliveries Rise in February

AI mobility company XPeng announced it delivered 15,256 vehicles in February 2026. The figure provides a current snapshot of the company's performance in the competitive AI-powered electric vehicle market.

The February delivery figure represents a notable decrease from the 20,011 vehicles delivered in January 2026 and a significant drop from the 30,453 vehicles delivered in February 2025. This downward trend is part of a broader slowdown in China's electric vehicle market at the start of the year. This market-wide cooling is attributed to a combination of factors, including the reduction of government subsidies for new energy vehicles and the seasonal impact of the Lunar New Year holiday, which typically sees a dip in auto sales. For instance, the China Passenger Car Association noted that February auto sales were expected to be the lowest for the year. In the competitive landscape, XPeng's performance in February trailed that of its rival Li Auto, which announced the delivery of 26,421 vehicles during the same period. This highlights the intense competition within the Chinese EV sector. Despite the challenging start to the year, XPeng has set an ambitious sales target of 550,000 to 600,000 vehicles for 2026. To achieve this, the company is focused on a major product offensive, with plans to launch several new models, including new SUVs and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. A core pillar of XPeng's strategy for 2026 is a significant global expansion, with the goal of doubling its overseas sales. The company has already begun global deliveries of its new P7+ model to 18 countries. This international push is seen as a key driver for future growth. Technological advancement remains central to XPeng's vision, with CEO He Xiaopeng emphasizing "Physical AI" and globalization as the core strategies for the year. The company is also set to unveil its second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model, further solidifying its focus on AI-driven mobility. Looking ahead, the company is also investing in futuristic mobility solutions, with plans to break ground on a humanoid robot factory in Guangzhou. This long-term vision underscores XPeng's ambition to be a leader in the broader AI and robotics landscape.
